Workout Tips for Busy Moms
Moms do a lot of running around for their family. The problem is that errands are not the right type of exercise that one needs for optimal health. A certain amount of time, around 30 minutes per day, is needed to maintain weight, improve the cardiovascular system, fortify bones and muscle mass and stay energized. Proper exercise and nutrition can make weight control in Mt. Kisco an attainable goal.
Moms need to make exercise time a habit. Understanding that carving out at least 30 minutes of exercise every day is an investment that will not only pay off now, but in the future, is very important. Going for a run, a brisk walk around a park in your neighborhood, or even doing a simple yoga routine can all help to relieve stress.
Sometimes 30 straight minutes of exercise just isn’t possible. The next best thing is to break the workout into 2 or 3 sessions. Try working in a simple weight training routine after breakfast with resistance bands at your home, then incorporate an afternoon walk when the kids get home from school. Incorporating your family into your workout can make it fun and will instill in your children just how important fitness is. Play tag or kickball with them in the backyard. Encouraging the entire family to become more active is a great way to stay fit and make exercise a lifelong habit.
It is easy to work in bits of exercise spontaneously during the day. Simple tasks such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator and drinking plenty of water throughout the day can help you to stay active and fit. Also, skipping the drive through and taking the time to get up and cook every night can cut calories from your diet and help you to stay active in the kitchen.
